- Always print and email a copy of the chat, this way if things go wrong, you have a proof in your hand.
- Make sure they have 24/7 technical support.
- Make sure they promise 99% and above uptime guarantee.
- Check hosting companies history and make sure they have been in business for a while, so you can assure that they will be around after you sign up.
- Ask if you are allowed for sub domains, most hosting companies do not provide this service.
- Ask if you have ftp access to your server.
- Try to find other sites using the same host and check their loading speed.Most hosting companies get greedy and host as many as websites they can on a single machine.This causes a slow load of your website and cpanel.
- Ask what type of system they will run your server on.
- Check their simple scripts.Meaning what scripts they provide you with for you to choose and install, such as WordPress, Joomla, Forums, Wikipedia, Photo Galleries and etc…
- Make sure your server has all the needed software's installed and updated such as PHP.
